Weathernews Inc. (Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo: President: Chihito Kusabiraki), has started its Fuel Routeing Service for Hanjin Shipping Co. Ltd., one of the top 10 container liners in the world. One of the hottest issues for today's shipping industry is how to deal with soaring bunker prices and yet maintain profitability, and environmental issues. Weathernews' Fuel Routeing Service helps minimize fuel consumption on a given route while taking into consideration safety issues. The reduction of fuel consumption also leads to a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.
