Worldwide Service and Support
With a successful track record of over 50 years servicing the needs of the marine community and 20 years servicing the needs of the aviation community, Weathernews has grown to support commercial airlines such as Japan Airlines and American Airlines with over 5,000 scheduled flights per day and over 200 clients with operational planning services. At our operational centers located Makuhari (Japan) and Oklahoma (U.S.), our seasoned aviation meteorological staff work around the clock 365 days a year analyzing global meteorological information in order to support our client’s operational needs. Our service concept is the combination of three complete services: Risk Communication, Operational Support Content and our Communication Tool (application). Through these services we are able to realize our client’s needs of safety, customization, comfort and economical efficiency.

Our highly experienced -“Risk Communicators”work tirelessly around the clock to provide accurate weather condition reports and forecasts via either video conferencing or phone to flight dispatchers, pilots and airline operators. This information is a critical component in the decision-making process which will either ground a flight or clear if for departure. Our services are extremely important during times of adverse weather such as tropical storms or winter storms which continue to pose a threat to normal flight operations.

2. Operational Support Content
This is a comprehensive service which focuses on departure, arrival, alternate and enroute airports. We provide both ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) meteorological information in conjunction with our own tailored, in-house forecasts which draw on proprietary “bad weather” computer models and in-depth local condition reports. For operations at low altitude such as helicopters, we also provide important routing information and even “real-time” services such as camera images placed in strategic locations such as the base of mountains. .

3. Communication Tool
Our “communication tool” is an application designed solely to enable aviation operators the ability to access/browse the latest aviation weather conditions with ease from a computer terminal anywhere. We have incorporated over twenty years of listening to the needs of the aviation community in order to develop a tool which is fast becoming the industry standard.
