Strong sunshine to push Bangkok, Thailand, to 35°C

Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures
Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to combine to raise temperatures in Thailand from November 8 to 9. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, allowing sunlight to warm the ground. Warm air of +18°C or higher at around 1,500 m is also spreading widely from the South China Sea, continuing to warm areas near the surface. These conditions are expected to persist.
Outlook for major cities
Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to continue during the period. Bangkok is forecast to reach 35°C from the 8th to the 9th, with humidity of 56% to 58%. The warm air at around 1,500 m is expected to weaken on the 10th, easing the heat in Bangkok and bringing temperatures down to 33°C. Phuket is forecast to reach 32–34°C and Chiang Mai 29°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.
Limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids regularly and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
