Temperatures to rise as warm air and strong sunshine combine

From September 29 to September 30, warm air and strong sunshine will combine to raise temperatures in Brazil. At around 1,500 m above the ground, warm air of +21°C or higher is spreading in from the Atlantic and continuing to warm the surface. The skies are expected to remain mostly clear, allowing strong sunshine to continue warming the surface. This pattern is expected to persist.

Outlook for various locations

Warm air and strong sunshine will continue throughout the period. Brasília is expected to reach 35°C from September 29 to September 30, with low humidity of 14% to 16%, resulting in dry heat. São Paulo is forecast to reach 26–34°C, Rio de Janeiro 28–31°C, and Recife 29°C, as warm air is not moving into the lower levels there. None of these cities is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids frequently, and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
