Temperatures to rise as warm air and strong sunshine combine

From September 28 to September 30, temperatures in Brazil are expected to rise as warm air and strong sunshine combine. Warm air of +21°C or higher around 1,500 m above the ground is spreading from the Atlantic and continuing to warm areas near the surface. Skies have few clouds, and strong sunshine is also continuing to warm the surface. These conditions are expected to persist.

Outlook for various areas

Warm air and strong sunshine will continue during this period. Brasília is expected to reach 36°C from the 28th through the 30th, with humidity of 14% to 17%, making for dry heat. São Paulo is expected to reach 31–32°C, while Rio de Janeiro will see 26–32°C. In Recife, warm air is not moving into the lower atmosphere, so temperatures are expected to stay at 30–31°C. None of the cities will reach 35°C.

Avoid going out during the day as much as possible. Drink water frequently, and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
