Warm air to push temperatures in Brazil up to 36°C on October 1

Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures
From September 30 to October 1, warm air and strong sunshine are expected to combine to raise temperatures in Brazil. Warm air of +21°C or higher is spreading in from the Atlantic at around 1,500 m aloft, continuing to warm areas near the surface. Skies will be mostly clear, adding to the sunshine and heating the ground. The heat is expected to peak on October 1.
Forecast for major cities
Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to persist during this period. Brasília is forecast to reach up to 36°C from September 30 through October 1, with low humidity of 14% to 15%, making for dry heat. With no warm air moving into the lower levels, Recife is forecast to reach 30–31°C; São Paulo, 25–29°C; and Rio de Janeiro, 26–29°C. None of these cities is expected to reach 35°C.
Please limit time outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink water regularly and take precautions against the heat, such as keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
