Chile weekly forecast: settled sunshine, with rain later in the week

Settled sunshine in central and southern Chile at the start of the week

During the first three days of the week, central and southern Chile are forecast to have sunny skies and low chances of rain. In Santiago, highs and lows are 22°C and 9°C on Thursday, October 15; 22°C and 10°C on Friday, October 16; and 24°C and 11°C on Saturday, October 17, with rain chances of 10%, 20% and 10%, respectively. Valparaíso is also forecast to be sunny, with highs of 19°C to 21°C and lows of 12°C to 13°C. In Valdivia, highs are 24°C, 22°C and 18°C, with lows of 9°C, 8°C and 11°C, and rain chances of 20%, 10% and 10%, respectively.

Punta Arenas: rain midweek, then improving conditions

Punta Arenas is forecast to have sunny periods through the week, with a spell of rain midweek and improving conditions toward the end. Skies are forecast to be sunny on Thursday, October 15, and Friday, October 16, with highs of 12°C and 13°C, lows of 8°C, and a 10% chance of rain. On Saturday, October 17, sunshine is expected to give way to rain, with a high of 13°C and a 50% chance of rain. Sunday, October 18, is forecast to be cloudy with occasional rain, a high of 14°C and a 70% chance of rain. Conditions are expected to improve from Monday, October 19, with a high of 13°C and a 20% chance of rain. Sunshine is forecast to return on Tuesday, October 20, and Wednesday, October 21, with highs of 11°C and 12°C and a 10% chance of rain.

Rain reaches Santiago, Valparaíso and Valdivia later in the week

Toward the end of the week, rain is forecast to spread across central and southern Chile. In Santiago, the chance of rain is 60% on Monday, October 19, with a high of 21°C; it rises to 80% on Tuesday, October 20, with a high of 17°C; and remains at 70% on Wednesday, October 21, with a high of 18°C. In Valparaíso, the chance of rain is 80% on Tuesday, October 20, with a high of 18°C, easing to 50% on Wednesday, October 21, with a high of 19°C. In Valdivia, the chance of rain is 70% on both Tuesday, October 20, and Wednesday, October 21, with highs of 16°C and 18°C.
