Temperatures to rise as high pressure aloft extends over the area

On September 21, temperatures in Vietnam are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with high pressure aloft. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, allowing sunshine to warm the ground, while a ridge of high pressure is also expected to extend slightly around 5,000 m above the surface, making daytime temperatures more likely to rise.

Strong sunshine and high pressure aloft are expected to continue during the period. Warm air will also flow into Hanoi, where temperatures are forecast to reach 35°C with 58% humidity on the 21st. Ho Chi Minh City is forecast to reach 32°C, and Da Nang 31°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.
