Strong sunshine expected to push Seville, Spain, to 36°C

High pressure aloft to raise temperatures
From September 20 through September 23, strong sunshine and high pressure aloft will combine to raise temperatures in Spain. There will be few clouds, and strong sunshine will continue to warm the surface. In addition, around 5,000 m above the ground, a ridge of high pressure is extending more prominently than in the surrounding areas, creating conditions in which clouds are less likely to form. This pattern is expected to continue.
Outlook for major cities
Strong sunshine and high pressure aloft will continue throughout the period. Warm air will also flow into Seville, where temperatures will rise to 36°C from September 20 through September 23. Humidity will be 20% to 24%, making for hot, dry conditions. Madrid will see 30–33°C, Bilbao 27–32°C, and Barcelona 27–29°C; none of these cities is expected to reach 35°C.
Please avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat, such as drinking water frequently and improving ventilation indoors.
