Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

From October 22 to 26, temperatures in Indonesia are expected to rise as warm air combines with strong sunshine. Warm air of at least +18°C is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean at around 1,500 m above the surface, continuing to warm areas near the ground. Skies are also expected to be relatively clear, adding to the effects of solar radiation. The heat is forecast to peak on October 23.

Outlook for major cities

Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to persist during the period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 37°C from October 22 to 26, with humidity ranging from 39% to 48%. Jakarta is forecast to see temperatures of 32–34°C, as is Denpasar; neither city is expected to reach 35°C.

Please limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat by drinking fluids regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
