Seoul and Gangneung: Clear Early, Rain Midweek, Then Clear

Seoul and Gangneung will be clear on Thursday, Oct. 22, and Friday, Oct. 23, before turning cloudy on Saturday, Oct. 24. On Monday, Oct. 26, Seoul is forecast to clear after rain (60% chance of precipitation, low of 13 degrees and high of 21 degrees). Gangneung is forecast to see heavy rain and storms (90% chance of precipitation, low of 13 degrees and high of 18 degrees), with heavier rainfall. Both cities will clear again on Oct. 27-28 as temperatures fall. On Wednesday, Oct. 28, Seoul is forecast to reach a low of 3 degrees and a high of 13 degrees, while Gangneung is forecast to reach a low of 5 degrees and a high of 15 degrees.

Busan and Jeju: Stationary Front to Bring Concentrated Heavy Rain and Downpours

Under the influence of a stationary front, heavy rain and downpours will be concentrated in Busan and Jeju from Friday, Oct. 23, through Monday, Oct. 26. Saturday, Oct. 24, is forecast to bring the heaviest rainfall: rain in Busan, with a low of 16 degrees and a high of 20 degrees (90% chance of precipitation), and heavy rain and storms in Jeju, with a low of 19 degrees and a high of 22 degrees (90% chance of precipitation). On Monday, Oct. 26, Busan is forecast to see a mix of heavy rain, storms and cloudy conditions (80% chance of precipitation), while rain in Jeju is expected to continue, with occasional breaks (80% chance of precipitation). Both cities will clear again on Oct. 27-28.

Temperatures to Fall Nationwide After the Weekend; Heavy Rain to Vary by Region

The heaviest rainfall of the week is forecast in Jeju on Saturday, Oct. 24 (274 millimeters, 90% chance of precipitation) and in Gangneung on Monday, Oct. 26 (152 millimeters, 90% chance of precipitation). Busan is also forecast to see 122 millimeters of heavy rain and storms on Monday, Oct. 26. From Tuesday, Oct. 27, Seoul, Gangneung, Busan and Jeju are all expected to return to clear conditions. On Wednesday, Oct. 28, temperatures are forecast to reach the week's lows: 3 degrees and 13 degrees in Seoul, 5 degrees and 15 degrees in Gangneung, 7 degrees and 17 degrees in Busan, and 11 degrees and 17 degrees in Jeju.
