Strong sunshine to push Mumbai, India, to 36°C

Strong sunshine to raise temperatures over 6 days
From October 23 to 28, temperatures across India are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies are mostly clear, allowing sunshine to warm the ground. At around 1,500 m, warm air of +18°C or higher has spread widely from the Arabian Sea and continues to warm areas near the surface. This pattern is expected to persist.
Outlook for major cities
Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to continue during the period. Mumbai is forecast to reach 36°C from October 23 to 28, with humidity of 36% to 48%. Sunshine will be weaker in Chennai, where temperatures are forecast at 30–34°C. Delhi is expected to see 32–33°C and Lucknow 27–32°C; none of the three cities is forecast to reach 35°C.
People are advised to limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Stay hydrated and keep indoor spaces well ventilated to cope with the heat.
