Warm air aloft to push temperatures higher

Temperatures are forecast to rise across Malaysia on November 1 under the influence of warm air. Warm air at temperatures of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the South China Sea at around 1,500 m above the surface. It continues to warm the air near the ground, making daytime temperatures more likely to rise.

Outlook for major cities

The warm air is expected to persist during the forecast period. Kuala Lumpur is forecast to reach 35°C on the 1st, with humidity at 55%. Johor Bahru is forecast to reach 33°C, Penang 32°C and Kota Kinabalu 31°C; none is expected to reach 35°C.

Try to limit outdoor activities as much as possible during the day. Take steps to cope with the heat, such as drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
