Warm air to keep temperatures elevated for 7 days

From October 29 to November 4, warm air and strong sunshine are expected to combine to raise temperatures across Indonesia. Warm air with temperatures of +18°C or higher at around 1,500 m is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean, continuing to warm areas near the surface. There is also less cloud cover, allowing more sunshine to reach the ground. The heat is expected to peak by November 4.

Outlook for major cities

Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to persist throughout the period. Surabaya is also under a high-pressure system near the surface, with highs of 36°C and humidity of 48% to 57% forecast from October 29 to November 4. By contrast, temperatures in Denpasar are forecast at 31–33°C and in Jakarta at 31–32°C, with neither city expected to reach 35°C.

Try to limit time outdoors during the day. Take precautions against the heat, such as drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
