Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to combine to raise temperatures across India on November 4. Skies will be mostly clear, allowing sunshine to warm the ground. At around 1,500 m, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Arabian Sea and continuing to warm the air near the surface, making daytime temperatures more likely to rise.

Forecast for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during the period. On November 4, Mumbai is forecast to reach 35°C, with humidity at 50%. Delhi is forecast to reach 32°C, while Lucknow and Chennai are each forecast to reach 31°C; none is expected to reach 35°C.

Try to limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Take steps to cope with the heat, such as drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
