Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to combine to raise temperatures across India on November 6. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, allowing strong sunshine to continue warming the ground. Warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Arabian Sea at around 1,500 m above ground, continuing to warm areas near the surface. As a result, daytime temperatures are likely to rise.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during the forecast period. On November 6, Mumbai is forecast to reach 35°C, with humidity at 50%. Delhi is forecast to reach 32°C, Chennai 31°C and Lucknow 30°C, all below 35°C.

Avoid going outdoors during the day where possible. Take precautions against the heat by drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
