Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

From November 5 to 7, strong sunshine combined with warm air is expected to raise temperatures across India. Skies will have few clouds, allowing strong sunshine to continue warming the ground. At around 1,500 m, warm air of +18°C or higher from the Arabian Sea is spreading across a broad area and continuing to warm the surface. The heat is expected to peak on November 6.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. Mumbai is forecast to reach 36°C from November 5 to 7, with humidity ranging from 45% to 56%. Delhi is expected to reach 32°C, Chennai 30–31°C and Lucknow 30°C; none is expected to reach 35°C.

Try to limit time outdoors during the day. Take precautions against the heat by drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
