Warm air and strong sunshine to push temperatures higher

From Nov. 4 to Nov. 11, temperatures are expected to rise across Indonesia as warm air combines with strong sunshine. Warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean at around 1,500 m above the surface, continuing to warm areas near the ground. Relatively sparse cloud cover and solar radiation are also contributing. The heat is forecast to peak on Nov. 5.

Outlook for major cities

Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to persist throughout the period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 37°C during the period from Nov. 4 to Nov. 11, with humidity expected to range from 44% to 55%. Jakarta is forecast to see temperatures of 31–34°C, while Denpasar is expected to reach 32–34°C; neither city is expected to reach 35°C.

Avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink water regularly and take steps to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
