Warm air and strong sunlight to raise temperatures

From November 6 to November 10, temperatures are expected to rise in Indonesia as warm air combines with strong sunlight. Warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean at around 1,500 m above ground and continues to warm areas near the surface. Relatively little cloud cover, along with solar radiation, is also contributing. The heat is expected to peak on November 6.

Forecast for major cities

Warm air and strong sunlight are expected to persist during the period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 37°C from November 6 to November 10, with humidity between 45% and 54%. Jakarta is forecast to reach 31–34°C and Denpasar 32–34°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Limit outdoor activities as much as possible during the day. Drink fluids regularly and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
