Temperatures to rise due to warm air and strong sunshine

From September 17 to September 18, temperatures in India are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies will be mostly clear, and sunlight is warming the ground. Warm air of +21°C or higher is spreading around 1,500 m above the ground from the Bay of Bengal, continuing to warm areas near the surface. This situation is expected to continue.

Outlook for various areas

Strong sunshine and warm air will continue during this period. Delhi is forecast to reach 35°C from the 17th to the 18th, with humidity at 49%. Chennai is forecast to reach 35°C on the 18th, with humidity at 61%, making conditions hot and muggy. Meanwhile, Lucknow is expected to reach 33–34°C and Mumbai 31°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.
