Temperatures to rise under warm air and strong sunshine

From September 19 to September 21, temperatures in India are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. There are few clouds in the sky, and strong sunshine continues to warm the ground. In addition, air warmer than +18°C is spreading widely from the Arabian Sea at around 1,500 m above the surface. This air will continue to warm the area near the ground. These conditions are expected to continue.

Outlook for various locations

Strong sunshine and warm air will continue throughout the period. Delhi is expected to reach 36°C from the 19th through the 21st, with humidity ranging from 40% to 44%, making for low-humidity, dry heat. Lucknow is expected to reach 33–34°C, Chennai 33–34°C, and Mumbai 31–32°C; none of these locations is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outside during the day as much as possible. Drink water frequently and take precautions against the heat, such as keeping indoor air circulating.
