Strong Sunshine Expected to Raise Delhi Temperatures to 37°C

Temperatures to Rise as Strong Sunshine Continues for 8 Days
From September 18 through September 25, temperatures are expected to rise across India as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies will have few clouds, allowing strong sunshine to continue warming the surface. At around 1,500 m above the ground, air at +21°C or warmer is spreading from the Arabian Sea and continuing to warm areas near the surface. This pattern is expected to persist.
Outlook for Various Areas
Strong sunshine and warm air will continue throughout the period. Delhi is expected to reach 37°C from September 18 through 25, with low humidity of 30% to 38%, bringing dry heat. Sunshine will be weaker in Chennai, where temperatures are forecast to reach 35°C on September 18, with humidity at 59%. Lucknow is expected to see 31–34°C, while Mumbai is forecast to see 30–32°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.
Please avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink water frequently and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
