Temperatures rise under warm air and strong sunshine

From September 22 through September 27, skies will be generally clear across India, and strong sunshine will warm the surface. Warm air will also contribute to rising temperatures. At around 1,500 m above the ground, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading broadly from the Arabian Sea and continuing to warm areas near the surface. This pattern is expected to continue.

Outlook for areas

Strong sunshine and warm air will continue during this period. Delhi is expected to reach 37°C between the 22nd and 27th, with low humidity of 25% to 38%, resulting in dry heat. Chennai is forecast to reach 35°C on the 25th, with humidity of 52%. Temperatures in Lucknow are expected to range from 27°C to 34°C, while Mumbai is expected to see 30°C to 32°C; neither city is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors during the daytime as much as possible. Drink fluids frequently, and take measures to protect yourself from the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
