Temperatures to rise as warm air and strong sunshine combine

From September 26 to September 28, temperatures are expected to rise across India as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies will be mostly clear, allowing sunlight to warm the ground. Around 1,500 m above the ground, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Arabian Sea and continuing to warm the air near the surface. This pattern is expected to continue for some time.

Outlook for various locations

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to continue throughout the period. From September 26 to September 28, Chennai is forecast to reach 36°C, with humidity at 49% to 56%. Mumbai is expected to reach 31–32°C, Delhi 30–31°C, and Lucknow 27–29°C; none is expected to reach 35°C.

Avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink water frequently, and take steps to protect yourself from the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
