Temperatures to rise with warm air and strong sunshine

From September 28 through October 5, temperatures are expected to rise in India as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Few clouds are expected, and strong sunshine will continue to warm the ground. In addition, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading broadly from the Arabian Sea at around 1,500 m above the ground, continuing to warm areas near the surface. This pattern is expected to continue.

Outlook for various locations

Strong sunshine and warm air will continue during the period. Delhi is expected to reach 37°C from September 30 through October 5, with low humidity of 22% to 33%, resulting in dry heat. Chennai is forecast to reach 35°C from September 28 to 29, with humidity at 55%. Mumbai will be 31–34°C, and Lucknow will also be 31–34°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outside during the day as much as possible. Take fluids regularly, and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
