Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

From October 2 to October 6, temperatures across India are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies are mostly clear, and strong sunshine continues to warm the ground. Warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Arabian Sea at around 1,500 m, and this pattern is expected to continue warming areas near the surface.

Forecast for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during the period. Mumbai is forecast to reach 36°C from October 2 to 4, with humidity of 46% to 49%. Delhi is forecast to reach 35°C from October 3 to 6. Humidity there is expected to remain low, at 22% to 33%, bringing dry heat. Chennai is forecast at 32–33°C and Lucknow at 32°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Try to limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Take fluids regularly and keep indoor spaces well ventilated as precautions against the heat.
