Strong sunshine to bring temperatures in Delhi, India, to 35°C

Warm air and strong sunshine to push temperatures higher
From October 4 to 9, temperatures in India are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies are mostly clear, allowing strong sunshine to continue warming the ground. At around 1,500 m above the surface, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Arabian Sea, and is expected to continue warming areas near the ground.
Forecast for major cities
Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. In Delhi, temperatures are forecast to reach 35°C from the 4th through the 6th, with low humidity of 23% to 29%, bringing dry heat. Mumbai is forecast to reach 35°C on the 4th, with low humidity of 43% and dry heat. Lucknow is forecast to reach 30–33°C, while Chennai is forecast to reach 32–33°C; neither city is expected to reach 35°C.
People are advised to limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat, such as drinking fluids regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
