Strong sunshine expected to push Mumbai, India, to 36°C

Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures
From October 7 to October 14, strong sunshine combined with warm air is expected to raise temperatures across India. Skies are mostly clear, and strong sunshine continues to warm the surface. At around 1,500 m, air of +18°C or warmer is spreading widely from the Arabian Sea and continuing to warm areas near the surface. This pattern is expected to continue.
Forecast for major cities
Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. Mumbai is forecast to reach 36°C between October 7 and 14, with humidity of 48% to 57%. In Delhi, temperatures are expected to rise to 35°C on October 13, while humidity remains low at 32%, making for dry heat. Chennai is forecast to reach 33°C and Lucknow 30–32°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.
People should limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Drink water regularly and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
