Strong sunshine to push temperatures in India to 37°C on October 12

Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures
From October 11 to October 18, temperatures across India are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies are expected to have few clouds, allowing strong sunshine to continue warming the ground. At around 1,500 m, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Arabian Sea, continuing to warm areas near the surface. The peak of the heat is expected on October 12.
Forecast for major cities
Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. Mumbai is forecast to reach 37°C from the 11th to the 18th, with humidity at 42% to 52%. Delhi is expected to reach 35°C from the 12th to the 14th, while humidity will be lower, at 32% to 36%, making for dry heat. Chennai is forecast to reach 31–33°C and Lucknow 31–32°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.
Limit time outdoors during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat, such as drinking fluids regularly and ensuring good ventilation indoors.
