Strong sunshine to push Mumbai, India, to 36°C

Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures
From October 13 to October 20, strong sunshine combined with warm air is expected to raise temperatures across India. Skies are expected to have few clouds, allowing strong sunshine to continue warming the ground. Warm air of more than +18°C at around 1,500 m is spreading widely from the Arabian Sea and continuing to warm areas near the surface. This pattern is expected to persist.
Outlook for major cities
Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to continue during this period. Mumbai is forecast to reach 36°C from October 13 to October 20, with humidity of 40% to 55%. Delhi is forecast to reach 33–34°C, Chennai 31–33°C and Lucknow 32°C; none is expected to reach 35°C.
People should limit outdoor activities as much as possible during the day. They should drink water regularly and take precautions against the heat, such as keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
