Temperatures to rise as strong sunshine continues for four days

From November 5 to 8, strong sunshine combined with warm air is expected to raise temperatures across India. Skies are mostly clear, and strong sunshine continues to warm the ground. At around 1,500 m above the surface, warm air of +18°C or higher extends widely from the Arabian Sea and is expected to continue warming the area near the ground.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. Mumbai is forecast to reach 36°C from November 5 to 8, with humidity of 40% to 55%. Temperatures are expected to reach 31–32°C in Delhi, 30–31°C in Chennai and 30°C in Lucknow; none of these cities is expected to reach 35°C.

Try to limit time outdoors during the day. Take precautions against the heat by drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
