Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

From November 4 to November 11, strong sunshine and warm air will combine to raise temperatures across India. Skies will have little cloud cover, allowing strong sunshine to continue warming the ground. At around 1,500 m above ground, warm air of more than +18°C has spread widely from the Arabian Sea and is continuing to warm areas near the surface. These conditions are expected to persist.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to continue during the period. Mumbai is forecast to reach 36°C from November 4 to 11, with humidity ranging from 34% to 44%, bringing dry heat. Delhi is forecast to reach 29–32°C and Chennai 30–31°C. Lucknow is forecast to reach 29–30°C, as warm air is not expected to move into the lower levels. None of these cities is expected to reach 35°C.

Try to limit time outdoors during the day. Take precautions against the heat by drinking water regularly and improving ventilation indoors.
