Temperatures to rise as strong sunshine continues for seven days

From November 8 to 14, strong sunshine combined with warm air is forecast to raise temperatures across India. Skies will have few clouds, allowing strong sunshine to continue warming the ground. Warm air of +18°C or higher from the Arabian Sea is spreading at around 1,500 m aloft and continuing to warm the area near the surface. This pattern is expected to persist.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. Mumbai is forecast to reach 36°C from November 8 to 14, with low humidity of 30% to 36%, bringing dry heat. By comparison, temperatures in Chennai are forecast at 30–32°C, in Delhi at 28–31°C and in Lucknow at 29°C; none of the three cities is expected to reach 35°C.

Limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Drink water regularly and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
