Heat intensifies as strong sunshine joins from September 14

From September 13 to 14, strong sunshine and warm air will combine to raise temperatures in Indonesia. Skies will be mostly clear, allowing sunshine to warm the surface. At around 1,500 m altitude, air of +18°C or warmer is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean and continuing to warm the area near the surface. The heat is expected to peak on September 13.

Outlook for various areas

Strong sunshine and warm air will continue during the period. Jakarta is expected to rise to 36°C between September 13 and 14, while humidity will remain low at 34% to 42%, creating dry heat. On September 15, clouds are expected to spread and sunshine to weaken, with temperatures forecast to fall to 34°C. Surabaya is expected to reach 34°C, while Denpasar is forecast at 31–32°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids frequently and, indoors, keep air circulating as you take precautions against the heat.
