Temperatures to rise with warm air and strong sunshine

On September 14, temperatures will rise in Indonesia as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies will be mostly clear, and in addition to sunlight warming the surface, air with temperatures of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean at around 1,500 m above the ground, continuing to warm areas near the surface. As a result, daytime temperatures are expected to rise easily.

Outlook for different areas

Throughout the period, strong sunshine and warm air will continue. Jakarta will reach 35°C on the 14th. With humidity at 38%, the heat will be dry. This heat is expected to ease to 34°C on the 15th as clouds spread and sunshine weakens. Surabaya will reach 34°C, while Denpasar will reach 31°C because warm air will not move into the lower atmosphere; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going out during the day as much as possible. Drink water frequently and take measures against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
