Temperatures to rise as warm air and strong sunshine combine

On September 22, temperatures in Indonesia are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies will be mostly clear, and sunshine is warming the surface. At around 1,500 m above the ground, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading broadly from the Indian Ocean and continues to warm areas near the surface. As a result, daytime temperatures are expected to rise.

Outlook for various areas

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to continue during the period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 35°C on the 22nd, with humidity at 46%. By contrast, sunshine will be weaker in Jakarta, where temperatures are forecast at 33°C, while Denpasar is forecast at 32°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going out during the day as much as possible. Drink water frequently, and take measures to cope with the heat, such as ensuring good ventilation indoors.
