Temperatures to rise as warm air and strong solar radiation persist

From October 1 through October 6, temperatures are expected to rise in Indonesia as strong solar radiation combines with warm air. Skies will be generally clear, allowing solar radiation to warm the surface, while air of +18°C or higher spreads widely from the Indian Ocean at around 1,500 m above the ground and continues to warm areas near the surface. This pattern is expected to continue.

Outlook for each area

Strong solar radiation and warm air are expected to continue throughout the period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 35°C from October 1 through October 6, with humidity of 45% to 50%. Jakarta is forecast to be 31–34°C, while Denpasar is forecast to be 32–33°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids frequently and take measures to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
