Temperatures to rise as strong sunshine continues for 8 days

From October 1 to 8, temperatures in Indonesia are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Mostly clear skies have continued to allow sunshine to warm the ground, while warm air of +18°C or higher from the Indian Ocean has spread over a wide area around 1,500 m aloft, continuing to warm areas near the surface. This pattern is expected to continue.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist throughout the period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 36°C from the 1st through the 8th, with humidity of 42% to 50%. Jakarta is forecast to reach 31–33°C, while Denpasar is forecast to reach 32–33°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Stay hydrated, and take steps to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
