Strong sunshine forecast to bring temperatures of 35°C to Surabaya, Indonesia

Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

From October 7 to October 8, temperatures in Indonesia are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, allowing sunlight to warm the surface. In addition, warm air at or above +18°C around 1,500 m is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean and continues to warm the near-surface air. This pattern is expected to continue.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 35°C from October 7 to October 8, with humidity forecast at 44% to 46%. By comparison, Jakarta is forecast to reach 33–34°C and Denpasar 32–33°C, with neither city expected to reach 35°C.
