Warm air to push Surabaya, Indonesia, to 35°C

Temperatures to rise under surface high pressure
Warm air and surface high pressure will combine to raise temperatures across Indonesia on October 8. Warm air of +18°C or higher extends widely from the Indian Ocean at around 1,500 m aloft, continuing to warm the air near the surface. Surface pressure patterns are also becoming somewhat anticyclonic, making daytime temperatures more likely to rise.
Forecast for major cities
Warm air and surface high pressure are expected to persist during this period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 35°C on the 8th, with humidity at 47%. The heat in Surabaya is expected to ease on the 9th, with temperatures falling to 34°C as the surface high moves away. Jakarta, away from the surface high, is forecast to reach 33°C, while Denpasar is forecast to reach 32°C; neither city is expected to reach 35°C.
Please limit time outdoors during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat by drinking fluids regularly and improving ventilation indoors.
