Strong sunshine expected to bring Surabaya to 36°C

Strong sunshine to raise temperatures over eight days

From October 12 to 19, strong sunshine combined with warm air is expected to raise temperatures across Indonesia. Skies will be mostly clear, allowing sunshine to warm the ground. Warm air of +18°C or higher at around 1,500 m has spread widely from the Indian Ocean and continues to warm areas near the surface. These conditions are expected to persist.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to continue during this period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 36°C from the 12th to the 19th, with humidity ranging from 35% to 47%. Jakarta is forecast to reach 35°C on the 18th, with humidity at 46%. Denpasar is expected to reach 32–33°C, staying below 35°C.

Please limit time outdoors during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat by drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
