Strong sunshine expected to push Surabaya, Indonesia, to 37°C

Temperatures to rise as strong sunshine continues for 8 days

From October 15 to October 22, mostly clear skies across Indonesia will allow strong sunshine to warm the ground, while warm air will also contribute to rising temperatures. Warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean at around 1,500 m above the ground, continuing to warm areas near the surface, and this pattern is expected to persist.

Forecast for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 37°C from October 15 to October 22, with humidity ranging from 37% to 48%. Jakarta is forecast to reach 35°C on October 15, with humidity at 45%. Denpasar is forecast to reach 33–34°C and is not expected to reach 35°C.
