Strong sunshine expected to push Surabaya, Indonesia, to 37°C

Strong sunshine to keep temperatures elevated for 8 days
From October 16 to 23, temperatures are expected to rise across Indonesia as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, allowing sunshine to warm the surface. At around 1,500 m aloft, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading over a wide area from the Indian Ocean and continuing to warm the near-surface air. This pattern is expected to persist.
Outlook for major cities
Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist throughout the period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 37°C from October 16 to 23, with humidity ranging from 37% to 46%. Jakarta is forecast to reach 35°C from October 16 to 18, with humidity ranging from 43% to 47%. Denpasar, meanwhile, is forecast to reach 33–34°C, staying below 35°C.
Limit time outdoors during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat by drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
