Intense sunshine to intensify the heat from November 2

From November 1 to 8, generally clear skies and strong sunshine are expected to warm the ground across Indonesia, while warm air will also push temperatures higher. Warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean at around 1,500m, continuing to warm areas near the surface. This pattern is expected to persist.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during the period. In Surabaya, temperatures are forecast to reach 36°C between November 1 and 8, with humidity of 46% to 52%. Jakarta is forecast to see temperatures of 31–34°C, and Denpasar is also forecast to reach 31–34°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Limit time outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids regularly and keep indoor spaces well ventilated to help cope with the heat.
