Temperatures to rise as warm air persists for seven days

From November 3 to 9, warm air and strong sunshine are expected to combine to push temperatures higher in Indonesia. At around 1,500 m above the surface, warm air of +18°C or higher from the Indian Ocean is spreading over a wide area and continuing to warm areas near the ground. There are relatively few clouds, adding to the effect of solar radiation. The heat is expected to peak on November 5.

Outlook for various areas

Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to persist during this period. In Surabaya, temperatures are forecast to reach 37°C from November 3 to 9, with humidity ranging from 46% to 51%. The heat in Surabaya is expected to ease to 34°C on November 10 as clouds spread and solar radiation weakens. Denpasar is forecast to reach 33–34°C and Jakarta 32–33°C, with temperatures in both cities staying below 35°C.

Please limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Take in fluids regularly and take other steps to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
