Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

From November 8 to 10, strong sunshine combined with warm air is expected to raise temperatures in Indonesia. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, allowing sunshine to warm the ground. Warm air at or above +18°C is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean at around 1,500 m above the surface, continuing to warm near-surface air. The heat is expected to peak on November 8.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 37°C from November 8 to 10, with humidity ranging from 46% to 54%. Jakarta is forecast to reach 32–34°C and Denpasar 33–34°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink water frequently and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
