Temperatures to rise as warm air and strong sunshine combine

From September 12 through September 19, warm air and strong sunshine are expected to combine to raise temperatures in Mexico. At around 1,500 m above the ground, warm air of +21°C or higher is spreading broadly from the Pacific and continuing to warm areas near the surface. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, and sunshine is also expected to warm the surface. The heat is expected to peak on September 12.

Outlook for various areas

Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to continue throughout the period. Monterrey will also be under the influence of high pressure aloft, with highs forecast to reach 37°C from September 12 through September 19 and humidity expected to range from 28% to 47%. Guadalajara is expected to reach 26–28°C, while Mexico City is forecast to reach 22–24°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat by drinking water frequently and improving ventilation indoors.
