Temperatures to rise as high pressure aloft extends over the area

From September 29 through September 30, warm air and high pressure aloft are expected to combine over Mexico, raising temperatures. At around 1,500 m above the ground, warm air of +21°C or higher is spreading broadly from the Pacific and continuing to warm areas near the surface. At around 5,000 m aloft, a ridge of high pressure is showing a tendency to extend slightly, and this pattern is expected to continue.

Outlook for each area

Warm air and high pressure aloft are expected to persist throughout the period. In Monterrey, sunshine is also expected to intensify, with temperatures forecast at 35°C from September 29 through September 30 and humidity forecast to range from 46% to 51%. In Monterrey, clouds are expected to spread and sunshine to weaken on October 1, bringing temperatures down to 33°C. Guadalajara is forecast to reach 27–28°C, while Mexico City is forecast to reach 25–26°C because the extension of high pressure aloft is weaker; neither city is expected to reach 35°C.

Avoid going out during the daytime as much as possible. Drink water frequently and take measures to protect yourself from the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
