Temperatures to rise as high pressure aloft extends over the region

On September 29, temperatures in Mexico are expected to rise as warm air combines with high pressure aloft. Warm air of +21°C or higher is spreading from the Gulf of California at around 1,500 m above the surface and continues to warm areas near the ground. In addition, a ridge of high pressure around 5,000 m is showing a slight tendency to extend over the region, making daytime temperatures likely to rise.

Outlook for various areas

Warm air and high pressure aloft are expected to persist during this period. Monterrey will see stronger sunshine and is forecast to reach 35°C on the 29th, with humidity at 42%, resulting in dry heat. In Monterrey, clouds are expected to spread on the 30th, weakening the sunshine and bringing temperatures down to 34°C. Guadalajara is forecast to reach 28°C, while Mexico City is expected to reach 24°C as the extension of high pressure aloft is weaker there; neither location is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink water frequently, and take measures to protect yourself from the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
