Warm air aloft to raise temperatures
Temperatures are expected to rise across the Philippines on October 21 under the influence of warm air. Warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Philippine Sea at around 1,500 m aloft and continues to warm areas near the surface, making daytime temperatures more likely to rise.
Outlook for major cities
Warm air is expected to persist during the forecast period. Manila is forecast to reach 35°C on the 21st, with humidity at 56%. Cebu is forecast to reach 32°C, Davao 31°C and Baguio 23°C; none is expected to reach 35°C.
People are advised to limit time outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids regularly and take steps to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
